Drug Awareness Resistance Education

Vison

To erode the norm among preteens and early teens of experimenting with tobacco, alcohol and drugs by enhancing their resistance skills and resiliency and empowering them to make personal healthy choices.

Mission

To educate and empower our children through structured programs that will help them make wise choices toward their own social development, that will further enhance their safety and well-being, and to have those choices reinforced and supported by the community.
D.A.R.E. began as a Registered Society in 2003 and previously was a branch of the DeWinton Rural Crime Watch Association  (DRCWA) SINCE 1998

Objectives

To teach effective skills for recognizing and resisting social pressures to experiment with tobacco, alcohol and drugs and bullying
To help enhance self-esteem;
To provide positive alternatives to substance use;
To develop risk assessment and decision making skills;
To build interpersonal and communication skills.
